(via The Diary of a Nouveau Soccer Mom: Chocolate Cheesecake Strawberries)
Chocolate cheesecake filled strawberries. I like to just do low fat cream cheese creamed with a little sugar and vanilla extract and then mix in chocolate chips.
My husband loves bacon. You wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at him (ie, he doesn’t seem to have an ounce of fat on his body… asshole) but his love of bacon knows no bounds. The only problem? I despise cooking bacon. There isn’t a splatterscreen in the world that would make that job an easy one. That is however, until I tried the oven method!
Lay bacon across a cooling rack sitting on a tinfoil-lined baking sheet, throw the pan into a cold oven, crank the bitch to 400 degrees, and set your timer for 15 minutes.
Yep. That’s it! If you don’t have a cooling rack, just fold a little accordion out of some tinfoil to keep the bacon from cooking in the fat. Try drizzling some maple syrup on the bacon or adding cracked black pepper or some brown sugar. You can even cook the bacon for just 10 minutes, drain it on paper towels and let it cool, then put it in freezer ziplocks between pieces of paper towel, toss it in the freezer and then reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds whenever you need it. Perfect for people dating people who wish they were dating bacon.
Crustless-quiche.
Or, in all honestly, I added eggs, milk, and some flour into leftover salsa I made, and some cheese. Put into the oven at 350, and hope for the best.
I’m going to start posting some of my culinary exploits. We’ll see.
